About The Position

This position performs a range of custodial duties related to the care, cleaning and minor maintenance of assigned buildings and facilities. Duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting; cleaning and sanitizing restroom facilities and fixtures; emptying waste receptacles and removing refuse and debris from City parking lots and paved areas; and operating standard and high speed buffers and a water extract shampooer with wand. Duties may also include providing backup coverage for other custodial employees, identifying and performing minor building maintenance; and moving and arranging furniture and equipment for meetings and special functions.

Requirements

• Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to communicate in English at a level necessary for successful job performance
• Six months experience in cleaning and maintaining building interiors, including shampooing carpets and stripping and waxing floors
