About The Position

Employees in this classification are responsible for the performance of manual work involving the cleaning and care of buildings. Work is performed under supervision according to established procedures and methods, and is checked frequently and evaluated for the accomplishment of assigned tasks. Texas Tech Health El Paso (TTEP) is not considering applications from individuals who require sponsorship for an employment visa, including those with H1B visas or those currently on student or postgraduate visas. Additionally, this position is not eligible for remote or hybrid opportunities. All work is required to be performed onsite at TTEP.

Requirements

• Must have and maintain a valid State of Texas Driver's License and be listed as an approved driver as determined by Risk Management and insurance carrier.
• Must be able to pass the employee Criminal Background Check.
• Ability to understand simple written and verbal instructions as evidenced by the completion of an elementary school education.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Ability to learn materials, methods, and equipment used in assigned work.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

• 2 years experience in similar position is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, sanitizes restrooms, disposes of trash from offices, lab common & classrooms, wipes furniture.
• Cleans glass windows and doors.
• Removes bio-hazard waste when scheduled.
• Cleans and maintains equipment in good working order.
• Cleans floors.
• Cleans baseboards and corners, strips and waxes floors as needed.
• Coordinates and assists with the coordination of cleaning work areas with construction staff.
• Responds to emergency calls to correct or remediate the problem.
• Dusts, wet mops floors, vacuums, shampoos carpet in assigned areas.
• Burnishes floors in assigned areas.
• Responsible for keeping all work areas and equipment clean.
• Adheres to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.).
• Remains current with all licensures, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position.
• Personally, and consistently, demonstrates, displays and acts in accordance with Texas Tech Health El Paso’s Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork).
• Serves as a Values leader while actively promoting and encouraging staff across the institution.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
