About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing various areas within the fitness club, including restrooms, locker rooms, and all waste areas. This role involves detailed cleaning of surfaces, windows, and floors, ensuring a pristine environment for members. The Custodian will also assist with front desk operations as needed, manage inventory of cleaning supplies, and communicate effectively with members to provide a high level of service. This position requires adherence to cleaning lists and assigned tasks, maintaining organized storage rooms, and operating standard custodial equipment.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality skills.
Great communication skills with internal and external customers.
Must be team oriented, motivated, and well organized.
Ability to think critically and evaluate solutions to problems proactively.
Must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 75 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

Custodial experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker room areas, shower rooms, stall walls and doors, and all waste areas.
Inspect and clean all windows and window frames, both interior and exterior.
Detail clean all baseboards, wall trim, walls, and handrails throughout the facility.
Ensure that all surfaces are free of handprints, scuff marks, and dust.
Dust and clean all air vents, TVs, signage, storage or glass doors, and light fixtures.
Assist in front desk operations as needed, including use of Point of Sale.
Follow cleaning lists and other assigned tasks.
Remove or push down trash from all waste areas.
Clean all rubber or tile flooring throughout the gym floor, including auxiliary rooms and under gym equipment with the use of a vacuum, floor scrubber, and mop.
Use and knowledge of operating floor scrubber and vacuum cleaner.
Communicate with members and create a high level of member service.
Ensure all storage rooms remain clean and organized and products properly arranged on shelving racks.
Discard all loose boxes and trash.
Notify club management if inventory for cleaning supplies is low and needs replenishment.
