About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment in assigned facilities. This role ensures that buildings are cleaned and sanitized according to established standards, contributing to a healthy and professional atmosphere for staff, visitors, and clients.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous custodial or cleaning experience is an asset
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, tools, and safe handling procedures
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and equipment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Requires repetitive bending, stooping, standing, walking, twisting, and squatting.
Must be able to stand from six (6) to eight (8) hours per day.
Good visual and spatial perception.
Follow established safety policies including, but not limited to, mobile equipment, PPE, emergency response, HAZCOM, first-aid response, etc.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, classrooms, common areas, and breakrooms
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors
Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly
Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment
Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors
Restock cleaning and sanitation supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.)
Maintain janitor closets & equipment in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
Must understand and follow company safety policies.
Must be able to adhere to the responsibilities and physical requirements of the job.
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions, prioritize tasks, and work effectively with a team.
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools safely
Follow cleaning schedules, checklists, and safety procedures
Proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals.
Set up / take down of event materials.
Lifting, loading, unfolding and moving tables, chair, materials, and other equipment as needed.
Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to supervisors
Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations
