The Custodian reports to the Custodian Supervisor in coordination with the Physical Plant Director with the primary duties of maintaining a clean and orderly environment as assigned. Acts as a resource for the Physical Plant department and builds effective, strong working relationships to enhance department operations and functions. Provide support services to the department in a manner that professionally, cordially, and efficiently assists students, faculty, staff, and visitors. General cleaning and care of assigned area; this includes but is not limited to classrooms, restrooms, office areas, entryways, hallways, and storage areas. Assist in other areas as requested. Specific assignments are based on unit need and assigned by the supervisor which could include such things as reading labels, mixing chemicals based on instruction, assisting in building security, maintaining supply inventory, using a variety of tools and machines commonly associated with custodial duties, and assisting with debris, snow, and ice removal from entry ways. Expectation of on-campus presence with attendance and punctuality. Promote personal safety, safety procedures, and a safe work environment. Assist with call-back situations as called upon. Employment at will. Full-time status. 12-month appointment. Non-exempt.
