PT Custodian (Evenings)
About The Position
Seabury Custodians are highly rewarded! We are searching for enthusiastic, caring team members for our Continuing Care Community. The ideal candidate will have at least 6+ months experience in a similar position working with commercial cleaning machines and equipment. Hours: 20 hours a week, 5pm-9pm. Requirements
- At least 6+ months experience in a similar position working with commercial cleaning machines and equipment.
- Ability to read, speak and understand the English language clearly.
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of housekeeping and maintenance procedures, practices, safety regulations and guidelines.
- Working knowledge of floor and carpet maintenance equipment.
- Courtesy and cooperation in dealing with residents and staff.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, lift, or push for majority of the day in order to perform functions
Responsibilities
- Performs cleaning of assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods
- Wet-mops and dries floors.
- Polishes of brass rails.
- Vacuums carpets.
- Shampoos and extracts carpets.
- Washes walls, ceilings, lights and windows.
- Assists Housekeepers with semi-annual apartment/cottage cleaning.
- Removes and disposes of trash, as needed.
- Responds to emergency clean-up requests.
- Observes and reports the need for repairs to equipment, furniture, and/or building.
- Recycling - collects glass and cardboard from residents’ apartments and brings to recycling barrels.
- Cleans recycling barrels.
- Observes and reports the needs of the residents in regard to safety issues to the Director.
- Understands and supports the mission and philosophy of the facility.
- Conveys a professional and caring image.
