About The Position

Whatcom County Facilities is currently recruiting for a Custodian. Swing shift hours of work are 5:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. This position starts at range 106.1. Excellent full-family County benefits at no cost to employee. This position performs a variety of janitorial tasks related to the day-to-day cleaning and basic maintenance of County facilities under limited supervision. Works with various tools, equipment, and machinery and participates as a member of a team.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED AND 2 years of recent experience as a custodian working for a commercial firm or public institution OR completion of a certified janitorial training course.
Driving record that meets County standards.
Possess a valid driver's license at time of hire and throughout employment.
Background check must meet County criteria for security sensitive positions.
Must pass pre-employment physical capacities test.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of janitorial tasks related to the day-to-day cleaning and basic maintenance of County facilities under limited supervision.
Works with various tools, equipment, and machinery.
Participates as a member of a team.
