About The Position

Perform routine custodial activities at Cairo Elementary to maintain buildings, locker rooms, and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly, and secure condition. Requirements

• Any combination equivalent to a high school diploma, GED certificate, demonstrated progress toward obtaining a GED, or other educational training.
• Knowledge of basic methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in custodial work and routine maintenance.
• Knowledge of proper methods for storing equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Knowledge of proper lifting techniques.
• Ability to perform heavy physical labor, including walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to learn and apply custodial schedules, procedures, equipment use, and supply use.
• Ability to maintain tools and equipment in clean working order and secure them properly.
• Ability to perform minor non-technical repairs and report maintenance needs.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions, meet schedules and timelines, and communicate effectively.
• State or national criminal background check, physical examination, TB risk assessment, CAN check, and drug screen.

• Perform routine custodial activities to maintain buildings, locker rooms, and adjacent grounds in a clean, orderly, and secure condition.
• Use cleaning materials, equipment, and methods according to predetermined standards.
• Learn and follow schedules and procedures for custodial work and the use of equipment and supplies.
• Apply appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
• Keep tools and equipment in clean working order and provide proper security for them.
• Perform minor non-technical repairs.
• Observe and report maintenance and repair needs.
• Inspect facilities and ensure their security during the assigned shift.
• Follow oral and written directions and meet schedules and timelines.
• Communicate effectively with others, orally and in writing.
