About The Position

Provides custodial services at assigned site(s); ensuring an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for students, staff and visitors; performing a variety of special cleaning operations; and assisting in preparing facilities for classroom activities and building events.

Requirements

High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to bend, twist, stoop, reach and kneel
Ability to work at heights, ascend and descend ladders
Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation
Ability to hear and understand speech
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of custodial work, including cleaning methods and materials and the use of custodial equipment equivalent to that gained in at least one year of experience or a combination of education and experience
Previous experience working in a sanitation, custodial or maintenance position preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers, wash windows
Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures
Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed
May set up and tear down facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
May strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets
Responsible for grounds cleanup and snow removal as necessary
Helps to maintain building and door security
Create positive relationships with students, staff members, and all building stakeholders
Other duties assigned by the building administrator or Operations Supervisor
