About The Position

The Oregon Military Department is recruiting for a Custodian. This is a permanent full-time state position located in Springfield, Oregon. This position is represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees’ (AFSCME) union. This recruitment announcement will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur. Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• 1 year of custodial/janitorial experience that includes proper use of tools, machinery and chemicals used for the job
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driver's license or have reliable alternative transportation
• Must have and maintain a favorable Criminal background History check
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable Department of Defense National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Suitability Determination
• Must be able to maintain a drug/alcohol free workplace

Nice To Haves

• Basic computer skills that include but are not limited to retrieving and sending emails, completing digital forms to order supplies, time entry, and regular online trainings
• Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere

Responsibilities

• Sanitize and clean all buildings and facilities
• Pick up trash
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, or use industrial cleaning equipment to clean floors
• Clean and stock bathrooms
• Make sure buildings are secure
• Clean windows
• Perform minor building maintenance and repairs in support of OMD Facilities
• Structure work and other activities in the unit to promote a diverse workforce and ensure discrimination, harassment and hostility free workplace.
