About The Position

This position is responsible for cleaning all aspects of assigned areas, including restrooms, offices, and common spaces. The Custodian will also assist with room set-ups for events and ensure the safety and security of the areas they service. Additionally, the role involves promoting a culture of belonging and supporting the college's policies on diversity and inclusion.

Requirements

High School graduate or GED
One (1) year of successful experience in the custodial area.

Responsibilities

Clean and disinfect sinks, toilets, and trash receptacles, and mop restroom floors.
Clean and fill toilet paper and paper towel dispensers.
Clean mirrors, handrails, floors, glass doors, windows, window ledges, file cabinets, blinds, shelves, tables, chairs, dry-erase boards, ceilings, diffusers, and air ducts.
Vacuum and empty trash cans and replace liners.
Make sure all doors are locked and lights turned off before leaving the area.
Transport tables and chairs for classroom/area set-ups and return them to storage after the event.
Install floor coverings in the gym.
Pull out bleachers, set up stage and podium, and set up sporting equipment.
Understand the dangers and safety precautions in the use of chemicals.
Put out “wet floor” signs when appropriate and remove them when floors are dry.
Support and promote an environment of belonging where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute.
