About The Position

Rappahannock Goodwill Industries (RGI) is searching for a Full-Time Custodian for the QUANTICO MARINE CORP BASE shift (6:00 am - 1:30 pm). This individual will also serve as a backup driver for the transportation van that travels daily from Fredericksburg to Quantico and returns in the afternoon. The Custodian role involves performing routine maintenance and cleaning for Military Base Buildings, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing restrooms, cleaning windows, and managing cleaning supplies. The driver role involves backing up the regular driver when needed.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Must be DBIDS (Defense Biometric Identification System) eligible.
Must pass a drug screen and background check.
Must pass a DMV check.
Must be able to communicate in English.
Ability to read and mix cleaning solutions and chemicals.
Ability to be flexible, work at a fast pace, and be dependable and timely.
Ability to read and follow instructions for the use of chemical cleaners and machinery.

Nice To Haves

One to two years custodial experience.
Experience working for a professional janitorial company, office complex, hotel, hospital, or school.

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors.
Dust, clean, and polish fixtures and furniture.
Gather and empty trash, replace trash liners, and wipe down trash receptacles.
Scrub, sanitize, and supply restroom facilities.
Clean windows, mirrors, door-handles, switch-plates, and partitions.
Ensure custodial closets are clean, orderly, stocked, and equipment works properly.
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies.
Notify manager of any need for repairs, damage, or additional needs.
Serve as a backup driver for the passenger van.
Perform other duties as assigned.
