About The Position

Trademasters Service, an award-winning federal contractor with over 30 years of industry experience, is seeking a Supervisor for its Custodial Team. This role will oversee a team of six custodians to ensure cleanliness and sanitation throughout prestigious federal office buildings in NE Washington DC. The supervisor will train staff in proper cleaning techniques and procedures, use of tools, compounds, and chemicals, and contribute to team goals. This is a full-time, essential personnel position requiring schedule flexibility and potential overtime.

Requirements

  • 3 years of supervisory experience in the past 7 years, leading cleaning staff in commercial, hospital, or preferably a high-profile federal office environment.
  • 5 years of experience cleaning commercial, hospital, or government facilities in the past 7 years.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to track and complete paperwork/documents.
  • Understanding of the upkeep, care, and safe operation of motorized cleaning equipment (e.g., auto scrubber, buffer, snow blower, trash compactor, genie lift, pressure washer, box compactor, sweeper).
  • Ability to pass a background check and U. S. Department of Justice (DOJ) security clearance for federal property badging (3-4 month process).
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and on-going drug screens.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules, directs, and trains custodial staff.
  • Inspects work and generates reports for Project Management.
  • Ensures and promotes a safe working environment.
  • Demonstrates a high level of customer service and professionalism.
  • Completes daily duties and maintains upkeep of assigned areas and equipment.
  • Holds staff accountable to tasks and schedules.
  • Coaches, mentors, and takes disciplinary action as needed.
  • Ensures equipment, building, grounds, and property security during shifts and reports incidents/hazardous conditions.
  • Develops purchase requests for cleaning supplies/equipment and manages inventory.
  • Escorts vendors and visitors in secured facilities.
  • Tracks and schedules third-party contractors for snow removal and equipment service.
  • Applies knowledge of ASTM green cleaning standards and requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
