About The Position
ServiceMaster Facilities Maintenance is a locally owned and independently operated ServiceMaster Clean franchise providing commercial janitorial and facility support services. The Custodian/Janitor provides routine cleaning and custodial services at an assigned customer location, maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment while following established cleaning procedures, safety requirements, and service standards. The role involves cleaning floors, restrooms, common areas, workspaces, and other assigned areas; handling waste; restocking supplies; and reporting concerns. The position is part-time, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and reports to the Service Operations Manager.
Requirements
- Ability to understand and follow cleaning procedures and instructions.
- Dependable and able to maintain reliable attendance.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks.
- Ability to perform the physical duties associated with routine custodial work.
Nice To Haves
- Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors and other assigned areas.
- Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms.
- Empty trash and dispose of waste in designated areas.
- Clean spills and address routine cleaning needs safely and promptly.
- Clean and maintain common areas, workspaces, and other assigned areas.
- Restock and organize cleaning supplies as needed.
- Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment according to instructions.
- Follow established cleaning procedures, safety practices, and customer requirements.
- Complete assigned work independently and efficiently.
- Report supply needs, maintenance concerns, safety issues, or other problems to the appropriate supervisor.
- Perform additional custodial duties as assigned.
