About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Maintenance and Operations, performs general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds; maintains equipment in functional condition; and provides a clean and safe environment for students, staff, and community members. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, with hours that may include afternoon, evening, and/or weekend shifts, subject to change based on District needs. The role involves a 260-day contract, with specific working days being Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 pm - 7:30 am.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or completion of sufficient education to successfully perform the duties of the position
• Previous experience in building and cleaning maintenance desirable
• Motor Vehicle Operator's license and ability to provide own transportation
• Must be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of cleaning
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to use most common hand/power tools
• Must possess sufficient physical ability to perform necessary lifting, lift and carry 70 lbs., standing, climbing, walking, etc.
• Satisfy all statutory provisions governing submission of all pre-employment requirements including a criminal record background check and recommendation of prior employer(s).

Responsibilities

• Effectively utilize necessary equipment to perform essential custodial job functions
• Unload, transport and, maintain equipment, materials and supplies
• Assist with district and community activity/event set up and clean up
• Perform seasonal duties including lawn/landscape care and snow removal
• Promote good safety practices
• Uses hand tools of the trade and related power equipment, including brooms, mops, floor cleaning and waxing machines, vacuum cleaners, snow removal equipment, power mower and hand tools
• Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures, and regulations governing the proper use of tools and power equipment used in the performance of duties and the myriad of other duties as delineated in the Custodial II job description

Benefits

• Shift differential commensurate with experience - per OAPSE negotiated agreement
• 260 day contract, less vacation and holidays as provided via the negotiated agreement with OAPSE Local #367.
