Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED – Minimum baseline for entry into the field.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not always required.
• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Attention to detail, reliability, time management, and ability to work independently.
• Regularly required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, taste and smell.
• Occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces throughout the building.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms; restock soap, paper products, and supplies.
• Empty trash and recycling bins; transport waste to designated disposal areas.
• Disinfect high‑touch surfaces to maintain a healthy environment.
• Replace light bulbs, report repairs, and perform basic building upkeep.
• Arrange furniture, equipment, and room layouts for meetings or events.
• Follow safety procedures, use cleaning chemicals properly, and maintain equipment.
• Assist with light groundskeeping such as sweeping walkways or clearing debris.
