About The Position
Boyd Gaming Corporation is a leading casino entertainment company in the United States. This position involves cleaning and maintaining public areas such as hallways, lobbies, stairways, and locker rooms. The role requires performing detailed cleaning tasks, high dusting, carpet care, and floor care. Additionally, the custodian is responsible for the preventative care of cleaning equipment and maintaining the cleanliness of assigned areas by removing trash and debris. The job also includes operating a stripping machine, cleaning rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture, and handling property clean-up, including bio-chemical materials. This role requires good finger dexterity, the ability to stand for extended periods, and the capacity to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Requirements
- Minimum age 18 or 21 (varies by property).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift.
- Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses as required by local gaming regulations.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum one year cleaning experience preferred.
- Knowledge of carpet and floor care, chemicals, and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain public areas, including hallways, lobbies, stairways, and locker rooms.
- Perform detail work, high dusting, carpet care, and floor care.
- Ensure preventative care of cleaning equipment such as shampoo machines and sweepers.
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas; pick up and remove trash and debris.
- Operate a stripping machine, requiring the ability to pull, push, and maneuver a minimum of 75 pounds.
- Remove trash, clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom, or shampoo machine.
- Responsible for property clean up, including bio-chemical material.
- Ensure preventative care of equipment and supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
