About The Position

Amentum is seeking an Industrial Janitor in Sandy Springs, GA to provide the cleaning and upkeep of an assigned area for an industrial facility. This is a full-time position. The shift is 2nd Shift Monday - Friday 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM, though shifts may vary based on business demand. The role involves performing heavy cleaning duties, notifying management of needed repairs, maintaining effective communication, and complying with all safety and quality standards. The cleaner must be flexible and willing to complete all assigned tasks. Daily duties include cleaning floors, walls, and glass; removing trash; preparing cleaning solutions; stripping, sealing, finishing, and polishing floors; cleaning carpeted areas; servicing restrooms; cleaning interior glass and mirrors; maintaining the janitor's closet; monitoring building security and safety; and potentially driving vehicles to different facilities. The position may also require providing special cleaning and support during client events.

Requirements

0-1 year of relevant experience in industrial or commercial cleaning.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility/security credentials/authorization.
Must have minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
US citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
May require a valid driver’s license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Responsibilities

Cleans and maintains buildings/facilities.
Performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash.
Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Utilizes ladders, dusts and washes furniture, walls, blinds and select equipment; cleans ceilings and dusts light fixtures and ceiling vents.
Removes stains from surfaces such as carpet, drapes/shades, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
Prepares cleaning solutions per specifications.
Strips, seals, finishes, and polishes floors.
Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas, including application of spot cleaning treatment.
Gathers trash and empties in appropriate trash and recycling bins.
Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, etc.
Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms.
Cleans interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
Keeps janitor’s closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order.
Monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and possibly checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
Drives vehicles (if required) to perform or travel to other facilities to clean, including vans, industrial trucks, golf carts, or industrial vacuum cleaners.
Provides special cleaning and support during client events, as needed.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
