About The Position

Join UW–Green Bay as a Custodian Float and play a vital role in supporting a clean, safe, and welcoming campus for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This mission-driven position directly contributes to the University’s commitment to access, community, and student success by ensuring our learning environments reflect pride, care, and excellence. As a float custodian, you will work across campus locations—adapting to changing needs, covering vacant areas, and helping maintain the overall appearance of university facilities—while advancing our shared values: Build Community, Empower Success, and Express Gratitude in every interaction. Together, we care for the spaces where learning thrives—because Together, We Rise. In this dynamic role, you will perform a wide range of custodial and light maintenance duties, including cleaning offices, classrooms, restrooms, and common areas; maintaining floor surfaces through mopping, buffing, vacuuming, and refinishing; washing windows and surfaces; restocking supplies; and supporting furniture moves and event setups. You’ll also assist with waste and recycling removal, seasonal snow and ice management, and routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and identifying facility needs. Working under the guidance of the Custodial Services Supervisor, you will travel between campus buildings using a State vehicle—embracing challenges, adapting quickly, and helping maintain an environment where everyone can learn, work, and succeed.
