About The Position

Assumption Catholic Church is seeking a part-time Custodian Assistant. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of various church facilities, including the Church, Chapel, bathrooms, youth room, parish hall, church office, and campus police stop station. The Custodian Assistant will perform routine cleaning tasks, manage bathroom supplies, and ensure all areas are well-maintained.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of leadership, vendors, employees, and the general public.
• Average computer skills, including aptitude with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working on the building.
• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

• Previous janitorial or maintenance experience preferred.
• Team player with the ability to work in changing conditions.

Responsibilities

• Clean church buildings including the Church, Chapel, bathrooms, youth room, parish hall, church office, and campus police stop station.
• Vacuum, mop, dust, and empty trash cans.
• Stock bathroom supplies and maintain stock and reorder supplies as needed.
