The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned. This role involves performing janitorial duties, managing hazardous waste responsibilities, operating motorized cleaning equipment, and maintaining the daily upkeep of assigned areas. The custodian must comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures, and work collaboratively with team members. A key aspect of the role is to stop at-risk behavior of others and self, maintain a clean work area, and follow all protocols and company procedures. The custodian will take direction, respond to supervision, and communicate professionally with colleagues and customers. They will also fill in during staff shortages and support shift leads in completing tasks. Presenting a professional appearance and conduct, understanding customer service, and utilizing reporting systems are also important.
