About The Position

This role serves as the main point of contact for Goodwill Industries at the worksite, ensuring all work is performed to contract specifications. The Custodial Working Supervisor is responsible for maintaining equipment, supplies, personnel information, and time sheets, while also supervising and training custodial workers. This position requires a strong understanding of the statement of work and the ability to manage staff effectively to meet production guidelines and customer service standards.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in the custodial field with two years of supervisory experience required.
  • Must wear company issued uniforms.
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screening.
  • Must be able to interact cordially and productively with a variety of people.
  • Must be able to market Goodwill and explain the mission to the public.
  • Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with, and among, contract personnel.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule on short notice, including nights and weekends, and occasionally, long, or extended hours.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 10 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Must be able to engage in prolonged standing, walking and in frequent bending, stooping, and stretching and climbing stairs.
  • Must be able to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for Goodwill Industries at the worksite.
  • Ensure all work is performed to contract specifications.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, personnel information, and time sheets.
  • Ensure at least one member of the management team is on duty during work time.
  • Orient and train new or transferred custodial workers.
  • Supervise, discipline and recommend discharge of custodial workers.
  • Schedule custodial employees with focus on controlling payroll costs and adequate coverage for proper customer service and quality.
  • Supervise and motivate custodial employees to reach production guidelines.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of subordinates’ work performance.
  • Prepare personnel and payroll records in a timely manner.
  • Complete accurately other paperwork required in the day-to-day operation of the contract.
  • Inventory and request supplies ensuring that reorders are placed before stock is depleted.
  • Inspect contract equipment on a regular schedule and maintain an equipment inspection log.
  • Act as a positive role model for employees and customers in all aspects of professional performance.
  • Address all customer complaints promptly and satisfactorily.
  • Notify Project Manager of all customer complaints and other issues that may arise at the worksite.
  • Observe personnel policies and safety procedures.
  • Ensure compliance by subordinates.
  • Ensure the daily safety meeting is conducted and documented.
  • Hold an employees' meeting monthly and document meeting discussions, including safety.
  • Ensure hourly floor checks are conducted and documented.
  • Attend scheduled meetings as required.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable by the Company's automotive insurance carrier, obeying all traffic/safety laws.
  • Perform all duties as required per contract/Goodwill management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
