About The Position

The Ohio Department of Veterans Services is seeking a Custodial Worker to join their team at the Ohio Veterans Homes. This role is responsible for cleaning and maintaining various areas within the facility, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for residents. Requirements

  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading & speaking common English vocabulary.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and maintains restrooms, living facilities, dining areas, and offices by sweeping, mopping, stripping, buffing, waxing floors, vacuuming carpets, cleaning glass and mirrors, washing windows and walls, scrubbing sinks, countertops, and toilets, cleaning and emptying receptacles, and dusting surfaces.
  • Replenishes soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
  • Checks on supplies and stocks supply closets.
  • Reports the need for repair of equipment.
  • Reports evidence of fire, illegal entry, and theft of property.
  • Cleans offices by vacuuming carpet, cleaning and dusting furniture, fixtures, and equipment, and cleaning and emptying trash receptacles.
  • Exercises principles of infection control and implements infection control policies and procedures, including wiping up spills and fluids on floors, washing and cleaning resident beds and other furniture, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Performs any additional job-related duties as assigned.
