About The Position

This position involves leading and managing custodial staff to ensure efficient completion of cleaning tasks and emergency responses. The role requires planning and assigning cleaning tasks based on daily event schedules, performing a wide range of cleaning duties both indoors and outdoors, and handling heavy cleaning tasks. The Custodial Worker III will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety standards, coordinating workflow across shifts, performing facility inspections, prioritizing tasks, and assisting with special cleaning projects. Additionally, the role includes maintaining inventory, reporting staff issues, inspecting and maintaining equipment, training new team members, operating laundry equipment, and serving as a backup for building manager duties.

Requirements

  • Completion of ninth grade
  • Two years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage custodial staff to ensure all cleaning tasks and emergency responses are completed efficiently.
  • Plan and assign cleaning tasks based on daily event schedules.
  • Perform cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, restocking restrooms, trash removal, cleaning ceiling tiles, vents, windows, walls, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, and other interior tasks.
  • Clean exterior areas like walkways, windows, entrances, and railings, including pressure washing and operating power equipment.
  • Handle heavy cleaning tasks such as stripping, sealing, and waxing floors, and moving furniture.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA, and ADA regulations.
  • Coordinate with lead workers across shifts to address ongoing tasks and special needs.
  • Assist with daily facility inspections for cleanliness and condition.
  • Prioritize tasks based on work orders, building reports, and requests from staff and customers.
  • Help coordinate special cleaning during academic breaks.
  • Ensure all work meets high-quality standards.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment in storage closets.
  • Identify and report staff issues to supervisors for follow-up.
  • Inspect and maintain housekeeping equipment regularly.
  • Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas.
  • Help orient and train new team members.
  • Operate laundry equipment for tablecloths and hotel linens as needed.
  • Serve as a backup for building manager duties when required.
  • Assist with occasional room setups or breakdowns, including moving furniture.
  • Perform other assigned tasks, including special cleaning projects.
