About The Position

This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining various areas within the university, including halls, offices, shops, classrooms, restrooms, conference rooms, labs, gym areas, locker rooms, elevators, entrances, and exterior walks. Duties involve sweeping, dusting, mopping, floor reconditioning, spot washing of walls and doors, vacuuming, shampooing, stripping, sealing, waxing, cleaning glass surfaces, ceiling lights, and Venetian blinds, as well as emptying and cleaning waste receptacles, trash cans, recycle bins, water fountains, and doormats. The role also requires completing prescribed training and adhering to all Building Services Standard Operating Procedures and Facilities Services Policies and Directives. This position is considered Essential Personnel.

Requirements

  • Completion of ninth grade.

  • two (2) years of commercial custodial experience.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and maintains on a daily basis all halls, offices, shops, classrooms, restrooms, conference rooms, labs, gym areas, locker rooms, elevators which includes sweeping, dusting, dust-mopping, wet mopping, spot-mopping, reconditioning of floors and spot washing and cleaning of walls, doors, and partitions
  • Cleans and maintains all floors and floor coverings which includes regular duties such as vacuuming, shampooing, striping, sealing and waxing
  • Cleans all entrances, entrances walks, steps, patios, and concourses
  • Spot cleans and cleans all exterior and interior glass surfaces of all assigned buildings; cleans ceiling lights and Venetian blinds
  • Empties and cleans all waste cans, trashcans, recycle bins, water fountains and doormats
  • Required to complete training prescribed by Facilities Services Training and Education Department, and the University’s Compliance Training.
  • Required to follow and adhere to all Building Services Standard Operating Procedures, and Facilities Services Policies and Directives.
