About The Position

Preble Street’s Facilities staff contribute to our agency mission and help to create welcoming, safe spaces for clients by keeping program and agency spaces clean, orderly, and in good repair. We’re currently seeking a Full-Time Custodial Technician to work as part of the Facilities team. Custodial Technicians help keep our program and office spaces clean and safe by performing daily, routine cleaning of bathrooms, floors, windows, and other surfaces; removing trash; restocking cleaning supplies; and performing deeper cleaning, as needed. These tasks require extended periods of standing and walking, with frequent bending, reaching, and pushing and pulling of cleaning equipment. Heavy lifting, working with cleaning chemicals, and going up and down stairs are necessary to perform the regular Custodial Technician job duties. The schedule for this position is Tuesday-Saturday, 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and safe work practices
Ability to work collaboratively in a team
Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance
Positive regard for individuals experiencing homelessness and/or living in poverty
Familiarity with low-barrier services
Ability to interact respectfully and maintain appropriate boundaries with a diverse population

Nice To Haves

Prior custodial or cleaning experience
