About The Position

The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing custodial operations and personnel to ensure facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and professional manner. This position provides day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to custodial staff while ensuring cleaning services are performed in accordance with contract requirements, safety standards, and customer expectations. The Custodial Supervisor monitors work quality, coordinates staffing and schedules, and helps maintain a safe and welcoming environment for facility occupants and visitors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting custodial, janitorial, environmental services, housekeeping, or facilities support operations.
  • Previous experience leading, supervising, or directing custodial personnel.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of custodial procedures, cleaning products, equipment, and safety practices.
  • Experience conducting inspections and maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to coordinate work assignments and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting federal government facilities contracts.
  • Experience supervising custodial operations within large commercial, institutional, industrial, campus-style, or training environments.
  • Knowledge of environmentally preferred cleaning practices and sustainability initiatives.
  • Experience managing custodial inventories, equipment, and supply programs.
  • OSHA 10-Hour certification.
  • Experience utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or work order management systems.
  • Experience supporting event setups, special projects, or emergency response operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of custodial personnel.
  • Assign work tasks, monitor performance, and ensure custodial services are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities to verify cleanliness, safety, and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Ensure proper cleaning procedures, equipment usage, and safety practices are followed.
  • Support staffing, scheduling, attendance tracking, and workforce coordination activities.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with the ordering and distribution of custodial supplies and equipment.
  • Train and mentor custodial personnel on cleaning procedures, safety requirements, and quality expectations.
  • Address customer concerns, service requests, and operational issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate records, inspection reports, and operational documentation.
  • Support special cleaning projects, event support activities, and emergency response efforts as required.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable contract requirements, organizational policies, and safety standards.
