About The Position

Under the supervision of the Director and Assistant Director of Maintenance and Operations, the Custodial Supervisor is responsible for the supervising custodial staff in maintaining safe and clean school buildings and facilities for students, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or completion of vocational school program
• Considerable experience in custodial operations and/or building maintenance
• Possession of a valid Driver’s License
• Thorough knowledge and use of a variety of cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment
• Thorough knowledge of cleaning techniques
• Ability to plan and supervise the work of others
• Ability to instruct and train employees in building operations and care
• Ability to express ideas clearly, orally, and in writing
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators and employees

Nice To Haves

• Supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Plans, assigns, trains and supervises the work of the Head Custodians and custodial staff in collaboration with school Principals.
• Ensures buildings are maintained in a safe, clean, and sanitary condition.
• Provides input to school Principals for the completion of annual performance evaluations on all custodial staff under their supervision.
• Report emergency repairs by phone and regular repairs via work order request.
• Maintain adequate inventories of supplies and materials and ensure needed items are purchased and delivered to schools and facilities.
• Maintains operational supplies in secured areas to prevent pilferage.
• Performs all duties and tasks of Head Custodians in their absence, as needed.
• Trains custodial staff in performing cleaning operations and participates in the cleaning and sanitation of assigned school buildings when needed.
• Performs other related duties as directed by the Director or Assistant Director of Maintenance and Operations, or school Principal.
