About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Custodial Staff member at the YMCA. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment for all members and visitors by maintaining public spaces, bathrooms, locker rooms, and other facilities.
Requirements
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that require standing, bending, lifting, and moving equipment.
- Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, locker rooms, and shower areas.
- Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet tissue in bathrooms and locker rooms.
- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of public spaces, including hallways, common areas, and entrances.
- Promptly address spills, messes, and other immediate cleaning needs to maintain a safe environment.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks as needed (e.g., changing light bulbs or unclogging drains).
- Report any damages, necessary repairs, or safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations and protocols.
