About The Position

Washington County is seeking a reliable and hardworking Custodial Specialist to help maintain clean, safe, and functional county facilities. This entry-level position performs a variety of custodial and basic maintenance duties both indoors and outdoors, supporting daily operations across multiple locations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license required
Basic understanding of custodial practices, tools, and cleaning agents.
Ability to safely operate or learn powered cleaning equipment.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and repetitive motion.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of county facilities.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas.
Empty trash, clean walls, doors, windows, and drinking fountains.
Monitor and restock custodial supplies; report shortages.
Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and other tools.
Conduct outdoor cleaning of parking areas and recreational courts.
Perform basic facility security checks (e.g., door locks).
Assist with event setup (tables, chairs, podiums).
Perform minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs.
Complete other duties as assigned.
