About The Position

EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Custodial Shift Supervisor, Monday – Friday 2:00pm - 10:30pm at our National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) project in Washingotn, DC (NARA I).

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of experience in commercial cleaning required in high profile facilities.
2+ years of experience as a Work Lead.
Experience in leading and managing teams with 10+ employees.
Experience and knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
Basic understanding of the upkeep, care and safe operation of motorized equipment used for cleaning i.e. auto scrubber, buffer, snow blower, trash compactor, genie lift, pressure washer, box compactor, sweeper, etc.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents in English.
Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance

Nice To Haves

ISSA (International Sanitary Supply Association) or equivalent training desired.
Ability to read and understand Spanish is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Schedules, directs-work, and trains EMCOR custodial staff, as needed.
Inspects work, generates reports, presents information to Custodial Manager/Supervisor.
Ensures and promotes a safe working environment.
Consistently demonstrates a high level of customer service and professionalism.
Completes all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains daily upkeep of assigned areas and equipment.
Holds subordinate staff accountable to tasks and schedules.
Responsible for coaching, mentoring and disciplinary action, as needed.
Ensures equipment, building and property is secure during shift and reports incidents and hazardous conditions to senior management.
Develop purchase requests for cleaning supplies/equipment, manages inventory.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
