About The Position

The Custodial Lead will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the areas assigned and provides some work direction to custodial staff. The Custodial Lead will perform janitorial duties and all duties listed on the daily schedule. This role will also provide work direction and assistance to custodians as directed by the Custodial Supervisor and assist the Custodial Supervisor in scheduling and training staff as needed. The Custodial Lead will operate motorized cleaning equipment, track equipment inventory, maintenance, and repair, and schedule clean up and repairs as needed. They will maintain daily upkeep of the assigned area, track and maintain supply inventory, and assist the Custodial Supervisor in purchasing cleaning supplies and equipment. The role also involves performing quality, service, and safety inspections, reporting incidents and hazardous conditions to the supervisor, and reporting employee personnel and customer issues to the supervisor. Additionally, the Custodial Lead will monitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment and supplies, correct at-risk behavior, and provide recommendations for corrective action on areas that need improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma / GED required
  • At least 1-year related experience
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
  • Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
  • Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Nice To Haves

  • May be required to have a valid driver’s license
  • Completed all safety and task training certification
  • May be required to be forklift certified

Responsibilities
