Custodial Lead
About The Position
The Custodial Lead will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the areas assigned and provides some work direction to custodial staff. The Custodial Lead will perform janitorial duties, track equipment inventory, maintenance, and repair, and maintain daily upkeep of assigned areas. This role also involves tracking and maintaining supply inventory, assisting with purchasing, and performing quality, service, and safety inspections. The Custodial Lead will report incidents, hazardous conditions, and employee/customer issues to the supervisor, monitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment and supplies, and correct at-risk behavior.
Requirements
- High school diploma / GED required
- At least 1-year related experience
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification
- Completed all safety and task training certification
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
- Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
Nice To Haves
- May be required to have a valid driver’s license
- May be required to be forklift certified
Responsibilities
- Perform janitorial duties
- Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
- Provide work direction and assistance to custodians as directed by Custodial Supervisor
- Assist Custodial Supervisor in scheduling and training staff as needed
- Operate motorized cleaning equipment
- Track equipment inventory, maintenance, and repair
- Schedule clean up and repairs as needed
- Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
- Track and maintain supply inventory
- Assist Custodial Supervisor in purchasing cleaning supplies and equipment
- Perform quality, service, and safety inspections
- Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
- Report employee personnel and customer issues to supervisor
- Monitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment, and supplies
- Correct at risk behavior and report to the supervisor immediately
- Provide recommendations for corrective action on areas that need improvement
