About The Position

The Custodial Lead will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the areas assigned and provides some work direction to custodial staff. The Custodial Lead will perform janitorial duties and all duties listed on the daily schedule. They will provide work direction and assistance to custodians as directed by the Custodial Supervisor and assist the Custodial Supervisor in scheduling and training staff as needed. This role involves operating motorized cleaning equipment, tracking equipment inventory, maintenance, and repair, and scheduling clean up and repairs as needed. The Custodial Lead will maintain daily upkeep of the assigned area, track and maintain supply inventory, and assist the Custodial Supervisor in purchasing cleaning supplies and equipment. Additionally, they will perform quality, service, and safety inspections, report incidents and hazardous conditions to the supervisor, and report employee personnel and customer issues to the supervisor. The role also includes monitoring employees for proper use of personal protective equipment and supplies, correcting at-risk behavior, and providing recommendations for corrective action on areas needing improvement.

Requirements

High school diploma / GED required
At least 1-year related experience
CPR/AED/First Aid certification
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Nice To Haves

May be required to have a valid driver’s license
Completed all safety and task training certification
May be required to be forklift certified

Responsibilities
