About The Position

This position assists the plant manager in maintaining the safety, security, cleanliness, and appearance of the physical plant. The role involves cleaning various areas, responding to requests, and performing other duties as assigned. The work environment includes all weather conditions, and the position may require overtime, split shifts, and weekend work. The job requires the ability to read and comprehend service orders, repair requests, and instructions for equipment and chemical usage. It also involves conducting activities in group settings with tact and diplomacy.

Requirements

• Must be able to read and write.
• Must be able to comprehend instructions on operation of equipment of all types and on the use of chemicals used in cleaning operations.
• Must be able to read and comprehend service order and repair request documents.
• Trunk flexion and squatting are necessary requirements in accomplishing tasks such as working under raised buildings, in attic spaces, toilet room enclosures, etc., often necessitating carrying tools, building materials, etc.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of halls and entrances.
• Clean walls and windows.
• Check dressing rooms.
• Clean classroom units as specified in accordance with the working schedule and minimum cleaning schedule specific school needs.
• Be responsive to coordinator, plant manager and/or assistant custodian where appropriate.
• Perform all other duties as required by the plant manager or Coordinator of Maintenance & Custodial Services.
