About The Position

Performs a variety of general managerial and supervisory duties as needed to coordinate the maintenance and the upkeep of the Community Center. Responsible for keeping various rooms of the facility clean and in orderly condition. This includes daily job responsibilities such as cleaning building floors, gathering and emptying trash, servicing restrooms, cleaning and polishing furniture and fixtures, cleaning windows, dusting furniture, making minor repairs to building systems, mixing cleaning solutions, steaming carpets, stripping and polishing floors, driving vehicles for cleaning work, following procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment, monitoring building security and safety, moving heavy furniture and equipment, notifying management of needed repairs, and requisitioning supplies. The role also involves setting up and removing decorations, tables, chairs, and scaffolding for events, performing heavy cleaning duties, and communicating the need for repairs to management. The position requires the ability to handle multiple projects and daily activities while meeting timelines, develop and maintain good working relationships, possess good client/customer service skills, demonstrate multitasking and prioritization abilities, work independently, and communicate effectively.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school
  • Six (6) months of related experience
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and daily activities while meeting timelines
  • Ability to develop and maintain a good working relationship with seniors, peers and subordinates
  • Good client/customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize many different projects and workloads
  • Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort

Responsibilities

  • Keeping various rooms of the facility clean and in orderly condition.
  • Cleaning building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
  • Gathering and emptying trash.
  • Servicing, cleaning, and supplying restrooms.
  • Cleaning and polishing furniture and fixtures.
  • Cleaning windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
  • Dusting furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  • Making adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Mixing water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions.
  • Steam-cleaning or shampooing carpets.
  • Stripping, sealing, finishing, and polishing floors.
  • Driving vehicles required performing or traveling to cleaning work.
  • Following procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
  • Monitoring building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use.
  • Moving heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Notifying managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Requisitioning supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Setting up, arranging, and removing decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events.
  • Performing heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls & glass, cleaning debris from sidewalks and removing rubbish.
  • Notifying management of need for repairs.
  • Handling multiple projects and daily activities while meeting timelines.
  • Developing and maintaining a good working relationship with seniors, peers and subordinates.
