About The Position

The Arizona Corporation Commission is one of the most unique state agencies in Arizona and one of only nine public utility commissions in the country where Commissioners are elected. Established by the Arizona Constitution, the ACC is a medium-sized agency with offices in Phoenix and Tucson. Our mission is diverse—spanning utility rate making; securities registration and enforcement; rail and pipeline safety; and corporate business filings—and we boast average employment tenure of nearly 10 years. The Corporations Division approves corporate names and grants corporate or limited liability company status to entities organizing under the laws of the State of Arizona; grants authority to foreign corporations and limited liability companies to transact business in the State; collects annual reports from all corporations of record; and maintains records for the benefit of public record and service of process.

Requirements

  • Mastery of effective customer service techniques
  • Cash handling experience; basic bookkeeping and math skills
  • Excellent listening, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Research and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interact positively with customers via the telephone, correspondence or in person, including facilitating the resolution of customer complaints
  • Ability to learn and comprehend filing requirements according to Titles 10 & 29 (limited liability companies) Arizona Revised Statutes
  • Proficient PC skills
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to examine all documents submitted to the ACC for compliance with Titles 10 & 29 and ACC policies and procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in various situations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Examine and file or otherwise process corporation and limited liability company documents in accordance with requirements set forth in Titles 10 and 29 (limited liability companies) of the Arizona Revised Statutes, applicable administrative rules and regulations, and A.C.C. policies and procedures.
  • Staff a walk-up customer service window as a cashier for customers filing corporation and limited liability company documents at the Division.
  • Handle and count cash and other forms of payment.
  • Data entry of payment and document information.
  • Understand and advise customers on statutory filing requirements as interpreted by the Division.
