About The Position

The Customer Service Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the sales department by assisting Customer Service Representatives with various tasks. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of company products and services, adherence to pricing policies, and the ability to foster positive customer relationships. The assistant will also be involved in preparing reports, attending production meetings, and reviewing job cost summaries to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assists Customer Service Representatives in the formulation of quotations per customer instructions, writes sales orders and purchase orders and relays pertinent order information to the Customer Service Representative as needed.
• Performs numerous functions as contained in the sales department work instructions.
• Maintains a complete and thorough knowledge of all company products and services.
• Implements all approved pricing policies and procedures.
• Promotes and maintains company goodwill in all business and personal contact with the public.
• Cooperates and coordinates with personnel of other department/divisions seeking to utilize his/her assistance as necessary to accomplish mutual or dependent goals.
• Prepares and submits Customer Complaints and Lost Business Reports in compliance with relevant work instructions, and routes them to the appropriate personnel or department.
• Attends production meetings. Provides updated information on active orders and notification of all newly acquired orders. Coordinates with other personnel and informs proper departments of priority status on the day’s production schedule.
• Reviews all related job cost summaries and advise supervisor of any questionable or unreasonable cost assignments.
