About The Position

This role calls for an engineer who builds at the intersection of creativity and precision. This person is a problem solver who moves seamlessly from concept to execution, shaping new cushioning systems that elevate performance and unlock new possibilities. They bring strong technical depth in parametric modeling and a hands-on approach to prototyping, paired with the ability to navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities. They communicate complex ideas with clarity and influence cross-functional teams to align around bold solutions. Curiosity fuels their work. Craft defines it. They thrive in fast-paced environments and are driven to push the boundaries of innovation through thoughtful design, engineering rigor, and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
  • 2–5 years of directly relevant experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in parametric CAD tools (NX and Rhino preferred).
  • Experience designing plastic or foam components and tooling, supported by a strong portfolio of engineering work.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Computational design experience (Grasshopper) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop the next generation of cushioning systems, translating ideas into performance-driven, manufacturable solutions.
  • Use advanced modeling and engineering tools to create, refine, and scale systems that push innovation forward.
  • Partner with designers, developers, and engineers to build new cushioning systems and integration methods.
  • Create and refine complex 3D models using parametric CAD tools to achieve performance and manufacturability goals.
  • Prototype, test, and iterate on cushioning concepts through hands-on development.
  • Collaborate with Air Manufacturing Innovation partners to apply component-level expertise.
  • Translate innovations into scalable solutions for inline product teams.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to cross-functional and non-technical audiences.
  • Navigate multiple projects, adapting quickly to shifting priorities and timelines.

Benefits

  • We offer a number of accommodations to complete our interview process including screen readers, sign language interpreters, accessible and single location for in-person interviews, closed captioning, and other reasonable modifications as needed.
