About The Position

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. This position will assist in developing program curriculum course and training materials and marketing communication materials pertaining to a mindfulness-based K-12 social-emotional learning program called Be CALM . Key responsibilities include curriculum, collateral and communications materials. Secondary responsibilities include participation in training and technical assistance educators in middle and high school.

Requirements

• Experience with curriculum development in K12, particularly related to Social Emotional Learning and/or mindfulness.
• Experience consulting with K12 educators around implementation of social-emotional programs to promote student mental health.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and delivering professional development programs with educators.

Responsibilities

• Develop and adapt curriculum content and materials under the supervision and guidance of the program director, integrating knowledge of adolescent development, mindfulness, social-emotional learning, adult learning methods, and the school delivery context.
• Develop flyers, recruitment materials, dissemination materials, website and other promotional materials including drafting text and graphic design and layout.
• Ensure consistent graphic design (logos, colors, fonts, etc) style across communications and educational materials.
• Support Be CALM Training Team with occasional training and technical assistance for secondary educators.
