About The Position

Under the direction of the Senior Assistant Dean and Assistant Dean of Pre-Clinical Curriculum, and in collaboration with the Director of Undergraduate Medical Education, the Curriculum Manager oversees the coordination and support of all pre-clinical courses. The Curriculum Manager ensures timely updating and distribution of course materials and provides Learning Management System (LMS) training in collaboration with the Director of Undergraduate Medical Education. In addition, this position is responsible for all tasks related to pre-clinical programs, course documentation, and associated activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Health, or Business-related field. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
  • Four (4) years of experience in course management, instruction, or curriculum development at a higher education institution, preferably within a health-related discipline; OR a combination of education and experience to equal eight (8) years.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to think critically and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Learning Management Systems (LMS), Qualtrics, and video-conferencing platforms.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the administration, operations, and logistics of the pre-clinical phase courses/modules within the MD curriculum including LSP and PCM courses that may involve working with CHIPS.
  • Provides support and covers all TBLs in the Pre-Clinical Curriculum, including the creation of iRATs and gRATs as needed by faculty.
  • Provides LMS training and support for faculty, staff, and students in collaboration with the Director of Undergraduate Medical Education.
  • Serves as a non-voting member of the Course and Module Directors Curriculum Subcommittee (CMDCS) and implements committee decisions related to course administration.
  • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of student records and compiling all materials required for committee meetings, including documentation and input from the Associate and Assistant Deans regarding professionalism or other non-academic issues.
  • Provides accurate, current course information to faculty and students through email, website, and/or LMS platforms.
  • Coordinates, updates, and maintains the official LMS calendar encompassing all curricular and student affairs sessions, including all required fourth-year courses and all Longitudinal (LSP) and PCM courses, such as OSCEs, Skills Labs, and poster presentations.
  • Reviews, submits for approval, and processes limited leave request forms for all pre-clinical students.
  • Collaborates with the COM Admissions Office to collect student data and assign students to teams using established criteria.
  • Serves as a liaison between the deans, course directors, faculty, staff, campus partners, course partners, and students.
  • Manages and oversees all functions related to all the Senior Clerkship Coordinator, including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, supervision, backup coverage, counseling, discipline, and performance evaluation.
  • Uploads and manages all MD curriculum course documents in the LMS and maintains annual syllabi in Simple Syllabus.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
