About The Position

Utilizes knowledge of language revitalization strategies and methodologies to help develop language proficiency targeted curricula. Collects and researches existing curricula for improvement and redesign. Aids in researching and developing a new curriculum designed for specific learning needs, such as content, setting, and methodological approach. Assists in ensuring curricula quality to create maximum learning efficacy.

Requirements

• Associate's degree from a 2-year college or technical school; or two years (60 credit hours) coursework from 4-year college or university; or completion of the Cherokee Language Master Apprentice Program; or Graduate of Cherokee Immersion School.
• No additional experience.
• An individual should know Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
• The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
• Depending on work location, may be required to meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
