The Curriculum Specialist is responsible for educating all students substantially and effectively by demonstrating professional leadership, assessing and communicating learning results, demonstrating knowledge of content, reflecting on teaching and learning, designing and planning instruction, collaborating with colleagues, parents, and others, creating and maintaining a learning climate, engaging in professional development, implementing and managing instruction, demonstrating the implementation of technology, providing instructional support for teachers and principals, creating and providing district-wide professional development opportunities, analyzing student data, and implementing effective curriculum and instructional practices. This role requires adherence to all rules, regulations, policies, and administrative guidelines set by the Board of Education and the School SBDM Council, as well as maintaining accurate records. The specialist guides the learning process, helps teachers establish clear objectives and assessments, and assesses the effectiveness of curriculum and teaching strategies. They participate in and lead Professional Learning Communities, provide training and support to teachers and administrators, and arrange professional development opportunities. Collaboration with Directors of Instruction on instructional materials and facilitating teachers' understanding of Common Core Standards are key. The role involves observing teachers and providing non-evaluative feedback, fostering collaboration, assisting teachers in data analysis, preparing for classes, protecting students and equipment, being available for education-related purposes outside the instructional day, striving for professional competence, attending staff meetings, promoting positive public relations, and maintaining regular attendance and a professional appearance. The use of technology in daily tasks is also incorporated.
