About The Position

The Sr. Specialist, Curriculum Quality collaborates with the Member Competency & Learning (MC&L) team and subject matter experts (SMEs) in the analysis, design, development, editing, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of IIA instructor-led training and executive development learning products. This role creates participant guides, facilitator guides and PowerPoint presentations along with other materials to develop continuing education opportunities for the internal audit profession.

Requirements

  • Strong proofreading, editing, and style guide conformance skills.
  • High attention to detail and consistency of style across multiple products and formats.
  • A mastery of MS PowerPoint design and development; Canva experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with writing and editing learning objectives, activities, and assessments utilizing Bloom’s Taxonomy.
  • A creative and analytical mindset that can create visually appealing courseware and materials.
  • Ability to perform quality assurance reviews.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated experience prioritizing and balancing multiple, ongoing high-profile projects with ability to meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to consider the global perspective and applicability of projects and content.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education/Training or similar course of study.
  • 3 or more years of experience in learning content design and development with the ability to apply adult learning theory.
  • Mastery of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Expert ability to work in a computerized environment with knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Web-related computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Canva experience preferred.
  • Previous experience editing course content and exam items is a plus.
  • SmartSheet experience preferred.
  • Professional training or instructional design certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistency of editorial style and usage across The IIA’s course materials.
  • Operate in accordance with agreed IIA and department standards to ensure consistency of content and content design features across IIA curriculum.
  • Enhance the participant experience by ensuring flow and consistency of IIA curriculum.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews on all courses developed by editing each submission, ensuring it complies with IIA and department style guides and SOPs.
  • Complete the appropriate QA checklist for each course to validate that all quality requirements are complete.
  • Create and maintain PowerPoint and related education presentation materials used across multiple delivery modalities.
  • Support the design and development of Instructor-Led-Training (ILT) products working closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in various roles including writing, presentation design, and quality review.
  • Develop and maintain course description and learning objectives for all courses ensuring compliance with the IIA Competency Framework, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and NASBA requirements.
  • Using facilitation materials, develop creative and visually meaningful and impactful PowerPoint slides or other education presentations utilizing adult learning theory to captivate internal audit professionals.
  • Manage the external content permissions ensuring all permission requests are documented, requested and approved before courses are finalized.
  • Write knowledge check questions, final assessments, and certificate exams for courses to ensure comprehension of material consistent with learning objectives.
  • Stay up to date on information and trends related to the internal auditing profession to ensure that curriculum content is supporting the profession today while addressing future needs and direction for the profession.
  • Partner with and mentor external contractors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
