About The Position

This role focuses on developing content plans and learning assessments aligned with the Philippine K-12 curriculum to create new Canva templates for Filipino classrooms. The Curriculum Developer will initiate and review creative briefs for educational elements, evaluate educational resources (including templates, AI-generated content, and multimedia) for curriculum accuracy and pedagogical effectiveness, and translate these evaluations into actionable insights. A key responsibility is mapping PH K-12 curriculum standards (DepEd MATATAG K-10 and Strengthened SHS Grades 11–12) to existing and needed resources through gap analysis, and identifying content creation priorities across grade levels and subjects. The role requires a strong understanding of effective learning from a K-12 teaching perspective, proficiency in both English and Filipino, and an interest in AI's role in educational content development. The position is a 6-month freelance engagement, paid on a per-output model, with an expected commitment of approximately 30-40 hours per week. The role is based in Manila, Philippines, to facilitate collaboration with local teams.

Requirements

• Hands-on teaching experience in K-12 and understanding of effective learning from inside the classroom
• Degree in Education (preferred), majoring in a relevant subject, or a degree directly relevant to your subject area
• Experience creating curriculum-aligned content outside your own classroom (e.g., modules, textbooks, instructional videos, or Canva templates)
• Excellent grasp of both English and Filipino
• Knack for crafting engaging, pedagogically sound copy
• Genuine curiosity about how AI can support educational content development
• Ability to follow a project brief closely, proactively clarify details, and turn research into polished, on-brand template copy

Responsibilities

• Developing content plans and prescribing learning assessments based on the PH K-12 curriculum, forming the foundation of new Canva templates for Filipino classrooms
• Initiating and reviewing creative briefs for new educational elements (illustrations, photos, videos) to ensure topic relevance and grade-level appropriateness
• Evaluating educational resources — including templates, AI-generated content, and multimedia — for curriculum accuracy, pedagogical effectiveness, and learning flow
• Translating those evaluations into strategic, actionable insights to support the team's content goals
• Mapping PH K-12 curriculum standards (DepEd MATATAG K-10 and Strengthened SHS Grades 11–12) to existing and needed resources via gap analysis
• Identifying priorities for new content creation across grade levels and subjects
