About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic Curriculum Coordinator who is passionate about early childhood education and enjoys helping teachers grow. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can strengthen curriculum implementation, model developmentally appropriate practices, and inspire a positive culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. The Curriculum Coordinator will serve as our curriculum expert and work closely with the Academy Director, teachers, children, and families. This is not solely an office-based administrative position. The right candidate should expect to spend up to 80% of their time in classrooms observing, mentoring, modeling, and supporting teachers.

Requirements

  • Five to seven years of professional experience working with young children in a licensed school or early childhood setting.
  • Demonstrated success implementing child-centered, developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development, classroom management, and positive behavior guidance.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, motivate, and hold staff accountable in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to build positive, professional partnerships with children, families, teachers, and leadership.
  • Familiarity with Texas Child Care Minimum Standards.
  • Must meet all state licensing and Academy employment requirements.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required or must be completed within the required timeframe.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of NAEYC accreditation standards and the accreditation process is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure our Life Essentials® curriculum is implemented as intended throughout the Academy.
  • Help teachers understand the purpose behind the curriculum and confidently communicate what children are learning.
  • Support teachers with lesson planning and the effective implementation of child-centered, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
  • Observe classroom practices and provide constructive coaching, feedback, and follow-up.
  • Model strong classroom management, positive behavior guidance, health and safety practices, and meaningful teacher-child interactions.
  • Help teachers create learning environments that encourage children to explore, discover, problem-solve, and learn independently.
  • Identify areas where teachers may need additional guidance, resources, or professional development.
  • Partner with families to support and communicate their children’s educational and developmental needs.
  • Encourage teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and self-motivation among staff.
  • Partner with the Academy Director and leadership team to support enrollment, accreditation, quality improvement, and operational goals.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with Texas Child Care Minimum Standards and Academy policies.
  • Provide classroom coverage and additional support when needed.
