About The Position
Students work together with a faculty member on scholarly or artistic projects. Project Title: Voces en la Colina – Podcast Production in Spanish Faculty Mentor: Mariana Reyes Payan Project Description: Join a creative, research-based project exploring podcasting as a tool for cultural storytelling and language learning. Under the mentorship of Professors Mariana Reyes Payán and Catalina Ahumada Escobar, students will collaborate to research, script, record, and edit three podcast episodes in Spanish on themes from Race and Gender in Latin America: nation-building, gender violence, and colonial hierarchies. Positions: – Narration & Cultural Content Creator: Advanced or fluent Spanish speaker (any major). – Audio Editor & Designer: Student interested in sound design, audio production, or digital media. Time Commitment: 3–5 hours per week, February 5 – May 12, 2026.
Requirements
- A student interested in applying for the CURI academic year program must be enrolled as an on-campus St. Olaf student.
- There is no GPA requirement that must be met in order to apply for the program, but a student’s academic record will be considered during the selection process.

Responsibilities
