Project Title: Informal Physics Education Research Faculty Mentor: Eric Hazlett Project Description: Informal Physics Education Researcher: We are seeking two students to investigate the impacts of informal physics on perception of identity and belonging in STEM. The student would need to be familiar with how to create and analyze survey data for quantitative and qualitative investigation. The position is for two students that would work as a team. One should be familiar with the research methods covered in SOAN 371/373 and the other should have familiarity with the PHYS232 course or STEMQuest activities. The research will lead to publication and presentation of results and a better understanding of how to increase participation and inclusion in STEM disciplines. The student will be expected to work an average of 8 hours a week from Feb 5th through May 12th. Transferable Skills: Research and presentations.
