About The Position

This position is a paid, part-time, limited term assignment that offers interns the opportunity to gain substantive hands on experience. Interns enjoy the opportunity to get training and mentoring from experienced professionals in one or more areas. The Culture & Experience (CX) Intern will support key employee engagement, recognition, and culture initiatives that contribute to a positive employee experience at TRS. This role will assist with planning and coordinating employee programs and events, creating communications, maintaining program information, and providing administrative support for Culture & Experience activities. The intern will work closely with the Culture & Experience team and employees across the agency while contributing to projects that foster connection, engagement, and organizational culture. This will be a part-time (19 hours), limited-term assignment that will need to report our Austin offices at least two days per week. We are wanting this position to start in October, 2026, with the possibility of continuing into the spring semester.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in and actively attending an accredited college or university as an undergraduate student with a declared major in Human Resources, Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, Event Management or a closely related field AND within 12 months of graduation, OR Currently enrolled in and actively attending an accredited college or university as a graduate student (Master or Doctoral) in Human Resources, Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, Event Management or a closely related field AND within 12 months of graduation.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the administration and day-to-day support of Culture & Experience programs and initiatives.
  • Maintains tracking tools, calendars, databases, records, and program documentation.
  • Helps organize resources, templates, and digital files to ensure information is accurate and accessible.
  • Supports data collection, reporting, and basic analysis activities that help evaluate program effectiveness and participation.
  • Assists with routine administrative tasks and process coordination to support team operations.
  • Supports employee-focused initiatives that promote connection, engagement, and community.
  • Supports employee engagement, recognition, and culture-building initiatives across the agency.
  • Assists with employee resource groups (ERGs), committees, councils, and other employee-focused programs.
  • Helps coordinate participation, registrations, communications, and program materials.
  • Assists in gathering employee feedback, success stories, and program insights to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Supports initiatives that foster connection, collaboration, inclusion, and a positive employee experience.
  • Drafts, edits, and formats communications, announcements, presentations, and promotional materials.
  • Assists with updating SharePoint pages, digital resources, and communication channels.
  • Supports newsletters, awareness campaigns, and employee communications designed to increase engagement and participation.
  • Helps collect, organize, and maintain photos, highlights, stories, and other content for communications and reporting purposes.
  • Assists with developing visually appealing materials that promote programs and initiatives.
  • Assists with planning, preparation, coordination, and follow-up activities for employee events and programs.
  • Supports meeting logistics, scheduling, attendee communications, and materials preparation.
  • Helps track project milestones, action items, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Provides event-day support, including setup, participant assistance, and engagement activities.
  • Collaborates with team members and stakeholders to ensure successful execution of events and special projects.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
