Requirements

Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
Attention to detail a must
Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
Basic Microsoft Office skills
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Nice To Haves

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Archaeology, Anthropology, Architectural History or closely related field
2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
Be able to perform physically demanding tasks in adverse environmental conditions (e.g., rugged terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures).
Candidates must also have good organizational skills, a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and execute new tasks.

Responsibilities

Gain real-world experience on exciting archaeological projects
Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
Perform assignments under the direct supervision of your Section Manager, Cultural Resource Specialists, or other professionals
Assist with a variety of archeological field and reporting work, such as conducting desktop evaluations, field surveys, and curation
Assist project archeologists and crew chiefs as needed
Perform other duties as needed
Walk up to 6 miles a day
Record cultural resources in the field without any physical assistance (this could include hiking short distances in scrub and native vegetation and uneven ground conditions in high temperatures)
Lift up to 25 pounds without assistance
Work hours other than 8 to 5 which may include weekends and/or night shifts
Have (or able to obtain) a valid Texas Driver’s License
Be able to operate a vehicle day or night
Travel may be required at times
Complete sketch maps of sites
Complete field forms accurately and concisely
Use hand-held GPS units
Photograph resources
